Hello everyone,

My name is Cherie Li, I am from China and this is my fourth year at UVIC. My major is Economics, I chose this class because a friend recommended it and she thought it was very interesting and would provide a lot of meaningful knowledge that I could not learn in the required classes, which was very attractive to me.

In my free time, I usually like to stay at home and watch movies or go out on dates with friends. A good movie always makes me feel relaxed and spending time with friends makes my stress disappear. Also, I have a very cute dog named Cream who just had his third birthday and is a very docile French bulldog. Probably due to his brachycephalic nature, Cream snores when he falls asleep, which I was uncomfortable with at first, but gradually I can’t live without his snoring now and enjoy his company very much in my studies!

Personally, I am very interested in social media. In this age of advanced technology, where everyone is active on various social platforms, I think it is very meaningful to study social media in supporting this aspect of personal learning, as it is a more accessible way of learning. For example, because of the COVID-19, people are now taking online classes in different places, and it is inevitable that some people will not be comfortable with this approach, so self-learning becomes especially important. It seems to me that looking at how to make the most of social software to support personalized learning is a very good thing!

I am looking forward to learning with you.
